Summer is a state of mind and whisky season is in the eye of the beholder. Sip to a place where the sun glows and the palm trees blow using our award-winning Ancient Grains to transport you to paradise.
- 2 oz DEVINE Distillery Ancient Grains
- 1 oz Spiced Orgeat*
- 1 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
- 3/4 oz Lemon Juice
- 4 Shakes of Orange Rootside Bitters
- 1 Pinch of Toasted Chinese 5 Spice
- Lavishly garnish with Mint Leaves & Pineapple
Build ingredients into a shaker over ice. Shake then double strain into a glass over ice. Top with garnish. Using a brûlée torch, toast while you sprinkle 5 spice on top.
- 1 Cup Blanched Almonds
- 3/4 Cup Demerara Sugar
- 3/4 Cup Water
- 1 oz Brandy (we used @mapleleafspirits Lady of the Cask)
- 1/2 tsp Orange Flower Water
- 1 tsp Chinese 5 Spice
Pulse almonds in food processor until finely ground and set aside.
Combine sugar and water in a pot over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Boil the syrup for 3 minutes, then add ground almonds. Turn heat to low and simmer for another few minutes, then increase the temp to medium-high. Just before it starts to boil, remove from heat and cover with a lid.
Allow the covered nut mixture to infuse for at least 3 hours. Strain using a few layers of cheesecloth, discard ground almonds for another use. Stir in brandy, orange flower water and spice. Seal and store in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
